Glenn Hagfors - Velvet and TPLO

Velvet and TPLO "Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy" Summer 2007 Check back for photos, progress reports and links explaining this TPLO procedure. November 10th, 2008 GREAT NEWS! Velvet completed her second TPLO surgery on September 27th. She was a trooper and did a great job handling the surgery and recovery! On December 5th, Velvet celebrated her 10th week anniversary of her second TPLO procedure. We had a serious setback following her first week of recovery with an intense infection. Following weeks of anti-biotics and pain medication, we're back on track. She's now at about a 99% utilization of her second leg now! She's running way ahead during walks and bouncing through the deep snow and cattails. Velvet's returned to her bouncy, child-like self! It's great to have "Velvet" back!

PART III - Post Recovery
Velvet - April 19th, 2008 It's been months now since Velvet got the "all clear". Other then the return of lameness after resting from long runs, Velvet's doing great! Because the TPLO procedure didn't fix the diseased joints, and her arthritis was found to be "severe", I'll be expecting Velvet's mobility limitations and pain will return in time. For now, Velvet has a new lease on life, and you'd think she knew how precious it is. Velvet runs, jumps, pounces and plays like there's no tomorrow. The again, no one really knows if there is!
