Lunar Eclipse

What a spectacular viewing opportunity we had this year!

The skies were clear, the event occurred early enough for convenient viewing, yet late enough for a clear view, and cold enough for optimal viewing!

Unfortunately for me, my equipment and I were NOT prepared for the event. I quickly found the sub-zero limitation of batteries and my telescope drive base! In my unprepared, last minute rush, I also failed to properly setup my telescope mount. (Though that detail had zero impact once the drive failed, minutes into the event.) I snapped a few images with my Nikon F4s which turned out "acceptable". In a last ditch effort, I grabbed my Kodak Z740 digital "point-and-shoot", propped myself against a tree, and grabbed a few snapshots. The results aren't anything to write home about, but they still convey the essence of the eclipse. "Not bad", for a point-and-shoot digital!
